2024 Trustee Elections
The auditors have completed their agreed-upon-procedures and it can be confirmed that all nominees met eligibility requirements, the voting process maintained integrity for a fair outcome and the verification of voting results confirmed accuracy in the election outcome. The new Board of Trustees will take up office on 22 May 2024 and will be announced at the AGM and in MediBrief.
AGM 2024 and NHI update
Our AGM will take place on 22 May 2024. Our RSVP portal is now closed. We will report back on the AGM in the June MediBrief.
President Cyril Ramaphosa signed the National Health Insurance (NHI) Bill into law on May 15, 2024. However, it has not been promulgated yet, so the current health system remains in place, and existing laws still apply. There is no immediate impact on your membership and benefits, or to access to healthcare services in South Africa. The full implementation of the NHI will take several years. We will provide you with more information in MediBrief and future member communication, as new developments happen.
